To honor your child on their birthday AND to help support our library, families may choose to purchase a “birthday book.”

here and send it into school with your child. You can include either a $15 check(made out to Winnona Park Elementary School) or cash. It’s helpful to have it in an envelope with “Media Center” on the front. Parents, grandparents, guardians, friends and family members may participate in this program.
Your child will be invited to select a new book that has been purchased, but not circulated in the library. We put a special label in the front of the book and the student gets to check it out for the first time, and then return it when they are finished. After that, it becomes part of our regular library collection. Students may also choose to select a favorite book that is already in circulation. I will send home a picture of your student holding the book in the library. If your child's birthday is in June or July, they will receive their book in May. If their birthday is in August, they will receive their birthday book before the end of the month.
