    How to sign up for Decatur Virtual Academy

    1. Confirm residency for enrolled students or new students by completing CSD registration.
    2. Complete the online commitment form by the due date:
      1. The Fall Online Commitment Form opens in mid-March and closes on the first Friday in June. 
      2. The Spring Online Commitment Form opens in mid-October and closes on the first Friday in December.
    3. Student and family meet with the Director of Alternative Programs to discuss the program.
    4. Sign up for online courses.

    Decatur Virtual Academy Enrollment Timelines

    • The registration deadline for the Fall Semester is the first Friday in June. 
    • The registration deadline for the Spring Semester is the first Friday in December.
    • Only students with special circumstances (Hospital Homebound, Individual Education Plan, etc.) will be able to transfer after these dates.
    • If there is space in DVA, the interest form will open in mid-October for Spring enrollment and mid-March for Fall enrollment. Families should contact their home school administration, counseling or intervention staff to schedule a meeting to discuss their child's needs. The school teams can discuss if virtual learning is an appropriate option for each child.
    • Participating in DVA is a commitment. It is not designed for temporary virtual instruction. Students/families must commit to at least a semester in the program.
