This is my 18th year as an Oakhurst Owl!  Even after so many years, I continue to be amazed by the creativity, curiosity, and idealism of our young learners. I grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia and am a product of Dekalb County Schools. I have a BA from Georgia State University, an MAT from Piedmont University, and a PHD from Georgia State University.

Aside from teaching, my family keeps me busy. Spencer and I have a blended family of 5 kids, all of whom are also Oakhurst Owl Alumni. I can’t forget about our 3 dog children, too! I love to read, create art, cook, play outside, build things, explore, eat great food, visit museums and live music venues, along with a host of just about anything else that’s novel and active. I am always seeking out opportunities to learn something new, and I hope to foster a similar love of discovery and learning with my students!
