2025-26 Pre-K Registration

  • Pre-K Registration Process 2025-2026

    College Heights registration for new families is February 1-28, 2025. Registration instructions are below. To be eligible for the Pre-K program, a child must be four (4) years of age by September 1, 2025. Children five (5) years of age prior to September 1, 2025, must register for kindergarten. Parents/guardians must complete an online application before submitting supporting documents in person to College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center (CHECLC), located at 917 S. McDonough. If you need help completing the enrollment form online, please contact the Wilson Support Center at (404) 371-3601. Online registration will close after Friday, February 28. Any family registering after February 28 must visit the school to complete the registration packet. Children registered after February 28 will not be considered for the Pre-K lottery and will be placed on the waitlist according to the registration day and time. 

     

    Registration Instructions

    Step One: Beginning February 1, complete the online registration form, found on CSD "enrollment process" tab. Please record your application number to present when you bring your documents to College Heights. 

     

    Step Two: Bring documentation to College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center, Monday-Friday, February 1-28, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Documents must be submitted by Friday, February 28, by 1 p.m. to be considered for the Pre-K lottery. Please note there will be additional forms to complete when you submit your documentation. Please allow 15-20 minutes for this on-site process.  

     

    Required documents

    *Only applications with all documents will be accepted.

    • Two proof of residency documents (lease, deed, payment/coupon book, property tax or settlement statement and a current utility bill). The student's name must be listed as an occupant if providing a lease.
    • Birth Certificate (certified original)
    • Immunization (Form 3231)
    • Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition (Form 3300)
    • Student's Social Security Card
    • Picture ID of a guardian 

     

    Timeline for Pre-K registration and lottery process

    Online registration: February 1-28 

    Days to submit supporting documents: Monday-Friday, February 1-28, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. 

     

    Lottery: The electronic lottery will be conducted on March 4. Applicants will be notified of their waitlist status by phone no later than March 6. Parents/guardians of students who receive a Pre-K slot will receive a letter of confirmation via email by the end of March. 

     

    City Schools of Decatur courtesy staff: Complete the online application and submit documents during the month of March. The lottery will be conducted on April 1 and applicants will be notified via email of their waitlist status.

     

    College Heights After-School Program

    The Pre-K program runs from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and the after-school program runs from 2:30-6 p.m. Parents/guardians interested in registering their students for the College Heights after-school program should complete an interest form when submitting their student's documents. For families who receive a Pre-K spot, the school will hold a separate lottery for available after-care spots on March 28

     

    All families awarded an after-school spot will be contacted by phone. Parents will have 72 hours to accept the spot, complete the application, and submit the $50 application fee.
